- Do I think the systems in this game would lend itself well to an ASOIAF game? Actually, yeah. Diplomacy and Spies would work great for such a setting, and they could be developed more.
Do I think it could be a mod? Hell no. CA hasn't allowed you to easily modify the map since Med 2, though there is some sort of Black Magic that allows Shogun 2's map to be modified. - My ancestors are smiling at me, Imperial, can you say the same?
- edited February 22I don't think they would ever allow to change the map again. The last titel is mtw 2. I think when we can change the map, ca can't sell new games so well. Because we have every potential future title from fans. When we can change it, ca would never sell warhammer 2 and 3 very good. Then we would have already a complete map with the darklands and also things like nippon.
- Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do think there is a Game of Thrones mod for medieval 2. That's the best we're gonna get.
There a two different mods. And yes they a very great. With unique models from the TV.Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do think there is a Game of Thrones mod for medieval 2. That's the best we're gonna get.- What faction would you play and would it have naval battles?

House Tyrell, because they're less of a bunch of jerks than most of the other houses, and everyone else would be playing as either the Starks or LannistersWhat faction would you play and would it have naval battles?Flag0·Like
So true, Lannisters myself. Though I think plenty would want to play as Targaryens.
House Tyrell, because they're less of a bunch of jerks than most of the other houses, and everyone else would be playing as either the Starks or LannistersWhat faction would you play and would it have naval battles?- Just gonna chime in here and say I'd play a Total War: Game of Thrones until the cows came home.
Who knows, maybe it's the next Saga title?! - If CA did Total War: A Game of Thrones instead of Total War Warhammer.. they might have loved it a lot more and made it immensely better.. but unfortunately.. not.'I am the punishment of Tengri, if you had not sinned, he would not have sent me against you.' - Chenghis Khan Temujin
Unlikely but some of the Geisha's scenes from Total War: Shogun 2 was relatively close to that.Fist CA game with sex scenes.- Senior MemberPosts: 8,574Registered Users
Targayen. What faction would you play and would it have naval battles?
They have Dragons. The only faction that has Dragon.
Will Dothraki be part of Targayen or separate faction? - Would you be interested in it if both CA and George RR Martin agreed that the main story line would be hard to translate into a game, and they agreed instead to create a new version, or start point, that better suits a Total War game?
So it may end up being a prequel or maybe the sides are scrambled in a way you did not expect (Ned Stark is never called away and executed) The fate of John Snow is not the focus, instead the gods abandon mankind to it's final winter. - Oddly enough, I was just thinking about this very same topic. After Warhammer 3 is done, I would love to see CA take on a proper GoT/ASoFaI TW game. It would be a perfect setting for this franchise. Just need to fix the Diplomacy system up a bit and bring back family management as was last used in Attila. But there is so much potential with this, especially if the map encompass both Westeros and Essos. Not only would it include the major houses and their individual bannermen/sub-houses, but all the independent factions such as the free cities, the Nights Watch, the Wildlings and even the Others. There would even be the Dothraki khalesars as a horde armies. Plus, so many other TW standard tropes already fit into the setting such as spies, assassins, champions/lords/generals, priests, etc.
So yeah, I would totally be on board for this. Make it happen CA! - Junior MemberPosts: 185Registered UsersRead the books back in '07 .. very good stuff. Just wish he wrote faster
- I would open for Lotr and Got. But it's a way too early to think about it. I think warhammer 3 came in 2020. Then support to 2022. New Fantasy Total War maybe 2023

- edited February 24Gameplay additions in 3K ( character focused) seem to fit the setting, especially when imagined combined with discontinued Seven Kingdoms mod.
That can be only done as separate game , since modding is limited, and from experience bunch of mods are discontinued in Med2 or Attila.
In my opinion Naval combat would need to be added.
There is question if it would be by HBO or book licence, and how to continue after the War of Five Kings , would map consist of only Westeros or would it go all the way to Qarthor or Vaes Dothrak which in my opinion would dilute the action.
There is also interesting 'A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game' by Cmon that shows possible variety in factions, regarding design.
I would use similar campaign types like in 1st Medieval ( Start of War of the Five Kings and 1 or 2 later starting Campaigns)
White Walkers would be end game threat and lot of fantasy units are done awesome in Warhammer 2 ( Dragons, Mamoths, Giants, zombies so I don't doubt they can be well implemented.
My starting faction would be the best one:Flag0·Like - Junior MemberPosts: 1,638Registered UsersThat one would have a special campaign edict - 'burn your firstborn to negate weather penalties.'

Well to be fair the controversial tactics had happen only in the show and not in the books.
